The Akhal-Teke is one of the most ancient breeds in the world. They are a rare breed with their roots at the very beginning of horsemanship.
The principal goals and purpose of the ATAA are to establish, maintain, and operate a nonprofit Association to perpetuate and promote the Akhal-Teke horse, and to provide educational activities regarding the Akhal-Teke in North America. To advance these goals, the Association maintains an official registry for purebred and part-bred Akhal-Tekes.
