EQUITANA 2021

One of the largest Equine Celebrations of Horses worldwide, this is a golden opportunity to build awareness and expand the market for our fantastic breed, the Akhal-Teke.

The Akhal-Teke Association of America is a nonprofit* group of dedicated owners, breeders and breed enthusiasts working together to promote the Akhal-Teke horse breed at Equitana USA at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY October 1-3, 2021.

Equitana USA is a 3-day celebration of the horse through education, entertainment, instruction, and shopping! The ATAA will have a breed association booth with raffles, membership drive, educational materials, stallion and sale horse directories, and a live breed ambassador so visitors can meet an Akhal Teke face-to-face!! Ridden breed demonstrations featuring Akhal Tekes trained in different riding and competition disciplines will be held on each day of the event!

The Mission

To gather the funds, volunteers, and materials to host a professional, artistic, fun, and informational booth on the Akhal-Teke horse breed, worldwide, at the 2021 Equitana USA.

The People

Everyone, worldwide who is interested in promoting the Akhal-Teke, is invited to participate with ideas, information, funds, photos, DVDs, etc. While the ATAA is spearheading the effort, you do not need to be a member to participate.  The booth is about the BREED, not any country, organization or farm. Everyone is welcome to participate!

The Opportunity

This is one of the largest Equine Celebrations of Horses worldwide, and we will be there representing the Akhal-Teke in a professional and artistically-produced booth, along with a representative of the breed in a stall next to the booth, and ridden demos each day by some of our top riders and horses – a golden opportunity to build awareness and expand the market for our fantastic breed.

Donors and Sponsors

Our fundraising is starting off NOW. We need YOUR help! Our wonderful Akhal-Teke community has been very generous with previous events of this type, and we need your help again! We hope to raise around $7,000, which will pay all of the expenses for the booth and stalls for the exhibition horses, and will help to offset the costs of horse transport and food & lodging for ATAA exhibitors and volunteers. Sponsorships will help with specific purposes such as promotional materials, horse expenses, and digital notifications during the event (see donor/sponsorship information by following the link below).

Volunteers

We need Teke lovers to help at the booth!!! Maybe you’re lucky enough to have tickets to some of the events, but could spare a couple of hours to put a face on the Teke breed for people who stop by our booth. Maybe you can commit to helping set up or break down the booth, or if you aren’t able to attend, perhaps you could contribute in other ways – photos, artwork, promoting the event, Akhal Teke items to display in the booth? Please get in touch, we need your help! Volunteer Coordinator Yorke McGillivray [email protected]
