Memberships

The purpose of the ATAA is to maintain and operate a nonprofit Association to perpetuate and promote the Akhal-Teke horse and to provide educational activities regarding the Akhal-Teke in North America. The ATAA maintains an official registry for purebred and part-bred Akhal-Teke horses.

There are many benefits of becoming a member of the Akhal-Teke Association of America. Most of all, your membership dollars will help us to preserve and promote the breed.

Join our mission to promote and preserve one of the oldest breeds in the world.

In 2018 we staffed a booth at the World Equestrian Games, visited by thousands, and we held Akhal-Teke competition classes at Dressage at Devon. The ATAA also joined the Endangered Equine Summit sponsored by the Livestock Conservancy, and continued the Naked Foal Syndrome (NFS) testing program.

In 2019, we launched an ambitious grant-supported program to further assist with the registration of North American Akhal-Teke horses in the closed Russian Studbook (VNIIK) to maintain the status of purebreds. And we’re continuing the very popular Incentive Fund Awards that showcase the abilities of Akhal-Tekes in recognized sports against other breeds, as well as discipline and volunteer awards. All these projects are made possible through generous donations, grants, and your membership dollars.

Stay up to date with the ATAA Newsletter. Individual members receive a classified ad in each newsletter and Ranch members receive a ¼ page ad in each newsletter.

Ranches and Breeders

List your ranch or breeding program on the ATAA website to source new buyers

Earn Awards

Members are eligible for exclusive awards, including Achievement Awards and Discipline Awards. Members with registered pure or part-bred Akhal-Tekes may also receive Case Memorial Competition Awards for showing their horses.

Events & Breed Shows

Receive discounts on yearly ATAA Conferences and be the first to know about breed shows. Members are also eligible to use the Clubs and Associations insurance for public Akhal-Teke events that they host.

The Registry

Register your pure or part-bred Akhal-Tekes to add them to the ATAA registry and help us catalog Tekes in North America.

Membership Levels & Enrollment

We offer several types of memberships, whether you’re a friend of the breed or running a breeding program.

Individual

For those who own or lease an Akhal-Teke or Akhal-Teke cross.

Receive all ATAA updates and our quarterly newsletter electronically, access the membership directory, and receive one vote in elections after 6 months of membership.

Individual members can hold office or work on committees and receive 1 classified ad in each newsletter.

Register by March 31st of the current year to become eligible for awards.

1 year registration: $50 USD
10 year registration: $434 USD

Ranch/Family

For those who own, lease, or breed Akhal-Tekes or Akhal-Teke crosses.

Receive all ATAA updates and our quarterly newsletter electronically, access the membership directory, and receive two votes in elections after 6 months of membership.

Ranch/Family members can hold office or work on committees and receive one 1/4 page ad in each newsletter. Members also receive a Breeder/Farm listing on the ATAA website.

Register by March 31st of the current year to become eligible for awards.

1 year registration: $85 USD

International

For those who own, lease, or breed Akhal-Tekes or Akhal-Teke crosses outside of North America.

Receive all ATAA updates and our quarterly newsletter electronically, and access the membership directory. International members are not eligible to vote in elections, but can hold office, join committees, and receive awards. Members also receive 1 classified ad in each newsletter.

1 year registration: $50 USD
10 year registration: $434 USD

Juniors

For individuals eighteen (18) years of age and under who may or may not currently own or lease an Akhal-Teke or Akhal-Teke cross.

Receive all ATAA updates and our quarterly newsletter electronically, and access the membership directory. Junior members are not eligible to vote in elections, hold office, or join committees, but can receive awards if registered by March 31st of the current year. Members also receive 1 classified ad in each newsletter.

1 year registration: $27 USD

Friends

For those who do not currently own or lease an Akhal-Teke or Akhal-Teke cross, but who are fans of the breed.

Receive all ATAA updates and our quarterly newsletter electronically, and access the membership directory. Friends are not eligible to vote in elections, but can work on committees and receive volunteer awards.

1 year registration: $27 USD
