Registration photos are intended to identify your horse with their unique, individual looks. Poor registration images can make it difficult to properly identify your horse. All too often we get pictures with the legs cut off, hooves hidden by grass, over exposed, and part of the horse shaded black–especially the front and back pictures. These pictures can be unusable for identification.

For registration we need two full body shots, left side, right side. Hooves must be visible, and all four legs.

For registration we need two full body shots, left side, right side. Hooves must be visible, and all four legs.

Front of the horse, the photographer needs to kneel down to get all four legs visible to see all the leg markings. Knot the tail so all markings are visible. Now clearly one can see all the leg markings.

**Note the top of the horse is cut off…so please, send in more than one picture to capture it all.

Face markings, sent in additional pictures please, our breed is famous for them. Blue eyes or spots in the eye, please sent us a close up.

Foal registration, please include at least one picture of your foal with the dam.

Here the photographer has the right angle to take a body shot, the lens of her camera is level with the body of her subject.

How to draw the markings of your horse:

Use a RED pencil to color white markings. Only white markings are noted.
