Hi Everyone,
The ATAA has gotten the preliminary awards to give out to Akhal-Tekes and Akhal-Teke crosses for endurance and limited distance at the national AERC convention this next year. Of the 14 horses competing as Tekes or Teke crosses, only 3 !!! are eligible for ATAA awards. These are nice awards folks – beautiful coolers with the ATAA logo on them AND it’s great publicity for the breed- it’s mentioned in the national magazine and they are given out during the awards banquet. To be eligible, you need to be an ATAA member (not too late yet!) and your horse must be ATAA registered.
We haven’t gotten the results from the USEA (US Eventing Association) yet, but most likely the same thing will happen. Last year we had around 20-25 horses competing, but only 1 was eligible for a national ATAA award. This year there will be a few more that I know of.
If you’re not sure if your horse is registered, contact me ([email protected]) or Amrita ([email protected]) or if you want to register to be eligible, it’s not too late!
Check out awards, members, registration and more on the ATAA website at: www.akhal-teke.org.
