I have always tried to find the nearest horses, starting as far back as I can remember. Dad was in the USCG, so we moved all the time. Owning a horse was not even on the list. Got my first one after I was married with a daughter in tow. Did it anyway. Daughter rode and showed when we lived in Virginia Beach, Va. I mostly rode and trained and taught hunter lessons. Moving on many years….Have had horses most of my adult life. I have a small barn now with 4 Tekes, one in foal. Trying the breeding adventure. Nobody told me how frustrating it is! Fun, too, but harder than I thought it would be. I am trying to produce top quality competition horses. On the east coast here, there are very few Teke showhorses, and fewer riders who can ride them. But I will trudge on and see what I can do.
